Taiwan
In the 19th century Taiwan was well known for its camphor oil and cane sugar production but this has declined because of the lack of international demand not because of the sources being exhausted. Taiwan now relies on the exportation of bananas, guava, lychee and high mountain tea.
There are a great many twenty-four hour supermarket type stores in Taiwan but they very often will also collect payments for parking fines, driving fines, utility bills and credit card payments.
Taiwan’s high population numbers make it difficult to be alone anywhere on the island even when walking through the jungle a village will be seen or students walking or even soldiers on manoeuvres.
Weddings in Taiwan are becoming similar to those in the western world and wedding dresses are the same as American brides wear although red is one of the predominant colours at a Chinese wedding. Most now are waiting until they are around thirty years of age before marrying.
Baseball and basketball are popular sports in Taiwan as is billiards and cheerleading.
Karaoke is currently very popular and known in Taiwan as KTV.
